Frequently Asked Questions

PRP FAQ

  • What is PRP?
PRP stands for Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program. PRP is a program designed to support individuals with managing the challenges of mental illness and life skills management. You will be assigned your own PRP counselor that works one-on-one with you to help you meet your daily, short-term, and long-term goals. PRP sessions can take place in the comfort of your own home, in our office, or in the external environment.
  • How do I enroll in PRP?
You must see a therapist, psychiatrist, or other licensed mental health professional. Express to the licensed mental health professional that you would like to enroll in PRP services. Once they complete the referral form, they can submit it to our team, and one of our staff will begin the enrollment process with you.
  • Do you dispense medication like Suboxone or Methadone?
No, we do not dispense any medication. Our services focus on the individual and group counseling. However, we are well connected to community partners that we can refer you to for medication management.
  • Can you help me find a job?
Yes, we can assist you in building skills necessary to obtain employment. FSCMD is working to add a supportive employment program in which our care coordinators will assist you with a variety of support services. This program helps individuals identify employment opportunities, continuing education, vocational goals, and applying for entitlement benefits.
  • Will my treatment be kept confidential?
Yes! Any services you receive from Family Support Center of Maryland are 100% confidential. Your information will not be shared without your proper consent.
  • If I do not have Medicaid, can I still enroll in PRP?
Yes! If you do not have Medicaid we can help you apply. Right now, we do not accept private insurance, but we do have a sliding scale out of pocket payment plan. Please contact us for more details.
